    FAQs

Does it matter if my image has a white background?

DTF: Yes. DTF printers use white ink, so a white background will print as white. Use a transparent background if you don’t want it to show.

Sublimation: No. Sublimation printers don’t use white ink, so white areas won’t print and will show the color of the blank instead.

Sublimation: Why did the colors print dull?

Sublimation prints often look dull or faded before pressing — that’s completely normal. The colors are not fully activated until heat and pressure turn the sublimation ink into gas and bond it to the coated surface or fabric.

What’s the difference between DTF, UV DTF, and Sublimation?

DTF (Direct to Film) – Uses heat and pressure to transfer your design onto any color fabric, including cotton and blends. Great for shirts, hoodies, and apparel.

UV DTF – A peel-and-stick decal that needs no heat press. Perfect for hard, smooth surfaces like glass, tumblers, acrylic, and metal.

Sublimation – Uses heat to turn ink into gas that bonds with polyester fabrics or poly-coated blanks. Works best on light-colored materials like mugs and shirts.

Can I use a Cricut EasyPress or home iron?

A heat press is recommended for the best finish and lasting results. While an EasyPress can work for small projects, uneven pressure may cause incomplete adhesion or fading over time.
