How to Apply DTF Transfers

Step 1: Set Your Heat Press

Preheat your heat press to a temperature between 300°F and 325°F. Set the timer for 10 to 15 seconds and adjust the pressure to medium to firm for optimal results.

Step 2: Pre-Press the Garment

Pre-press for 5 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.

Step 3: Position the Transfer

Place the DTF transfer face-up, with the design side facing up, directly onto the garment, making sure it is straight and properly aligned.

Step 4: Press the Transfer

Close the heat press with firm, even pressure for the full time (10–15 seconds).

Step 5: Let It Cool

Allow the transfer to cool completely before peeling off the film, as DTF transfers require a cold peel process.

Step 6: Peel the Film

Slowly and carefully peel the carrier film away from the design. If any part of the design lifts, place the film back down and press it again briefly to ensure proper adhesion.

Step 7: Final Press (Optional but Recommended)

Cover the design with a Teflon sheet or parchment paper, then press it again for 5 to 10 seconds to seal the design and enhance wash durability.

Tips for Best Results

  • Always test on a sample garment before full production.

  • Wash garments inside out in cold water; avoid fabric softeners.

  • For best results, avoid stretching the design immediately after application.
